Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale, the American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to her being picked by the Wings as the 5th first overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born on March 2nd, 1997, in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) and Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her brothers older than her. Since she was the youngest of her siblings she was the most spoiled one with her mother and father. Her father Gregory was a soldier to the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale is a highly active family. Her brother Dare is a player in the NFL and her mom Yolanda played softball at DePaul. Her aunt was a volleyball player at UAPB as was their cousin Endia Oliver plays volleyball in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was on the institution's Honour Roll for three years consecutively. She has also won various distinctions, and also received notoriety and praise from her high school career. Arike was a graduate of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is located in her hometown. She played in three different varsity seasons as she enrolled in school. Ogunbowale's extraordinary abilities helped her team winning stunning games multiple times. The high school graduate compiled her record with 73 career start and finishes her career with 1,477 points and 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale was awarded Gold Medals in the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 world Championships as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. Ogunbowale was selected as the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team 7 July 2014. Ogunbowale is also named to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first time in a collegiate game.
